Our forecast models are all set-up using MIKE by DHI software, which means that new requirements to the software from the forecasting service are easily implemented in the software. Model types include
- hydrodynamic models (MIKE 3, which is a 3-dimensional model and MIKE 21, which is a 2-dimensional or depth averaged model),
- wave models (MIKE 21 SW) and
- water quality/eutrophication models (MIKE 3 and MIKE 21).
The forecast models are running on a regular basis - most of them with two forecasts a day. The map below show some of the global and regional forecast model areas while local models of for example port areas have not been included. Blue model are dedicated forecast systems set-up and running at client forecast centres, while red models are running at the water forecast centres either in Denmark or in Singapore.
